Two men shaped the Southern Tier like no others. Join us for the premieres of two new WSKG Original Documentaries, Johnson and Watson. On December 1st at 8:00pm, follow the life and legacy of George F. Johnson and the community he built. On December 2nd at 8:00pm, think Thomas Watson Sr., one of the 20th century’s most prominent and charismatic CEOs, who create the emblematic motto and the influential corporation it promoted, IBM. Explore a whole new “World” on WSKG TV: starting January 2012, “WSKG 2″ will become “WSKG World TV”. The World Channel features the best of public television’s non-fiction, documentary and public affairs programming, including NOVA, Frontline, American Experience, Nature and more, and World Channel programming will replace programming previously found on WSKG 2. WSKG World TV, channels 46.2 and 30.2, can be found on channel 705 on most Time Warner cable systems.

Spend the holidays with WSKG, and enjoy a month full of seasonal specials on television and radio. Start off with Live from Lincoln Center: George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker on December 14th at 8:00pm on WSKG TV, and follow up with Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on December 24th at 10:00am. The WSKG Education and Outreach team is teaming up with the Sciencenter in Ithaca, NY for a special Sid the Science Kid-themed afternoon! Join us December 10th from 10:00am through 1:00pm and receive an activity booklet for recording your day’s adventures. And you won’t want to miss an in-person appearance by Sid! more info
